Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] In this work we will try to examine the procedure of the conversion of the Moorish protagonist in the Lopesque work El Santo Negro Rosambuco. The religious metamorphosis of the Muslim slave is represented at the end of the first act and is revealed as a fundamental circumstance for the evolution of the dramatic events: the action of Christianization is constituted as a key moment to signify the prelude to a positive transformation that will lead to I convert to the public recognition of his state of holiness. I will also analyze the significance that the scene implies since the author seems to arrange the dramatic event in his comedy with the clear intention of delivering to the audience the perception of a restored order and transmitting, at the same time, the sensation of the overwhelming force of the triumphant Christian religion over Islamic "heresy." In addition, it will also insist on the observation of the religious ideology that supposedly resides behind the dramatic work and that is perceived from the emphasis with which Lope describes the protagonist, represented as a model of Franciscan virtue.
