Abstract
The essay explores the shadows that inhabit generative relationships and family ties. “Giving birth” implies in fact drawing (out) from darkness that, on a symbolic level, expresses a remote origin, often forgotten. This means that the educational relationship is not simply the pre-seen and controlled product of a clear intention, but a natural, somewhat “dark” event, which brings with it faint traces of family memories, unconscious legacies and biographical factors .
