Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] In a world where economic growth has long been the primary objective in every industrial sector, the need to integrate environmental and social sustainability into corporate strategies and activities is strongly emerging. The need to operate in an increasingly sustainable way is transversal to all sectors but takes on a particular character in sectors which are naturally connected to the social and environmental well-being of society as a whole. This is the case of companies active in the health sector, which with their work contribute directly to ensuring the health and well-being of the entire population, playing a role with a high social impact due to the nature of the activities carried out. As part of their mission with a high social value, how do healthcare companies operate towards their stakeholders? What is the impact of these activities and processes on the natural environment? How and to what extent are healthcare companies integrating social and environmental sustainability into their strategies?
