Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

In this essay Kleiber's metalinguistic theory of proper names - according to which the proper name N is the abbreviation of the denominative predicate ‘being called /N/ (x) - is criticized. In particular, it is shown that it cannot deal with the translation of proper names and the synonymy of proper names.
