Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The phenomenon of radicalization is a multidimensional phenomenon both in its causes and in its phenomenology. This multidimensionality requires a careful look at the characteristics of the subject protagonist of the radicalization process and, therefore, at his psychology, but also focused on the social aspects that concern him. Hence the opportunity to adopt a psycho-social perspective on radicalization capable of restoring the complexity of the phenomenon. In practice, it is a matter of embracing multiple levels of explanation among those used in social psychology and classified by Doise. Furthermore, multidimensionality is generated by the multiplicity of real and digital environments that the subject involved in a radicalization process can inhabit. In summary, the chapter deals with radicalization phenomena in reference to the different environments in which they occur. It also focuses on an aspect that is transversal to the actions carried out by the subjects within the different environments, namely their identity, providing keys to reading the phenomenology that it assumes, namely their subjectivity. Finally, it presents some operational indications for those working in the sector of radicalization prevention.
