Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The musical activities of the Società del Giardino which can be reconstructed through the documents of the Historical Archive bring into focus an interesting range of vocal and instrumental academies (concerts, recitals) of which the protagonists are first-rate soloists, divas, emerging musicians, instrumentalists professionals, beginners and amateurs. There are numerous reviews published by the periodical press which help to shed light on the musical performances: the esoteric events in which nobles, notables, city authorities and 'elected' people participate (strictly by invitation) are described to readers. The common denominator and seal of the paragraphs is the care of the organizing members who work to make each academy no less than "decent and welcome", according to a recurring form. A flourishing musical activity emerges: Milanese clubs compete for musicians, offering the public a multi-coloured palette of proposals.
