Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Fruit trees known as deciduous, are native species of the northern temperate zones that have adapted well to environmental conditions in regions of the high Andean Colombian tropics, especially in the Boyacense highlands where approximately 80% of the planted area is found. Conduction systems (pruning) of fruit plants are agronomic techniques that are applied with technical criteria for productivity in countries producing temperate climates. Other forms of conduction and its effects are not known in Boyacá, with the exception of the traditional open vessel, which is why the study aimed to evaluate 6 different types of conduction on vegetative growth in two varieties of Peach. The height of the plants, the diameter of the trunk, the length of the primary branches, percentage of lignification, and projection of the cup were measured according to each form (treatment). It was observed that the different types of pruning formation positively influenced with respect to the absolute control, in the vegetative growth of the plants and in the lignification of the primary branches, with greater incidence in the Rubidoux variety. The results also showed that the tree shape with the highest development in height and lignification of the primary branches was the spindle.
