Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] "Becoming" father, mother: if the subjectivation of this biological operation is not given automatically, then it can be understood that it is the complication, the complexification of a starting option, or becoming a man, becoming a woman. As enigmatic as it is inevitable in every passage to the adult. But in what terms can we treat this "almost biological" as a field where the exercise of some freedom is allowed? If they are choices, they must be of a very particular kind. If it is a question of freedom, how can it be found in a language hastily related to the ethological-instinctual determinism, to which even certain psychoanalysis has voted, starting in the 1950s in the American version of Freud's thought? The event of a birth is part of the appointments that constitute an appeal to subjectivity in its unpredictable side: the "functional" families are those that actually have integrated a structural dysfunction, putting into play in a creative and positive way a new event.
