Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The professional practice of care involves ambivalent, uncomfortable and sometimes conflicting dimensions that are not always recognized or legitimized in healthcare contexts and
socio-health care, increasingly governed by evidence-based logics. Not infrequently professionals are faced with these "taboos" in solitude, in the absence of explicit knowledge and shared criteria. This book intends to help fill a gap in thought, shedding light on some little thematized aspects of care work, which otherwise
they would remain entangled in the folds of experience. To these "unspeakable" dimensions of care, which are particularly current today (by the
scientific knowledge to the difficult balance of the relationship between those who care and those who are treated, from the experience of the vulnerability and discomfort of operators to the complex relationship with
the organization, etc.), the various contributions contained in this volume are dedicated, which unfolds as a training and self-training path: each chapter is in fact
accompanied by narratives, exercises and in-depth materials, in order to provide professionals and their trainers working tools for self-care and
development of emotional and reflective skills.
