Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The close link between action and perception is particularly evident when we take into consideration the tactile modality. Touching implies, at the same time, an action and a perception. In this chapter, we will examine the primary function that the touch as a tool for interpersonal communication and knowledge of the world. The sense of touch is the most developed sensory modality at birth: touching, touching and being touched are bodily experiences that contribute to triggering an incessant process of transformation and cerebral, cognitive and socio-affective development that will guide the child in his interpersonal relationships and in its interactions with the outside world.
