Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Exercising its social role in the welfare system, the School deals with health promotion. On this issue it is good to distinguish between different gradients. It is one thing to consider welfare, well-being given by material and instrumental conditions; another consideration is to look at the health of the psychophysical apparatus; yet another consideration is to worry about the well being, which has to do with feeling good about oneself, loved and esteemed. Health promotion, in children and young people, should not only consider biological and organic well-being, but rather worry about the whole life, the prospects for life, the search for meaning of the children. And true well-being is not a product unilaterally lowered from above, but the fruit of a co-evolution in which the accompanying adult opens an authentic dialogue and is helped by young people to build polyphonic and open actions.
