Abstract

The contribution delves into the theme of orientation within the frame- work outlined by European and Italian policies. Orientation is construed as guidance that extends throughout one’s lifespan and across various domains, aimed at fostering self-awareness and an understanding of one’s context. Pedagogical reflection is tasked with supporting and ac- companying individuals in the development of project-based skills and competencies, enabling them to navigate the uncertainty inherent in our contemporary era. The article underscores the pivotal role of schools in this process and in cultivating orientational competencies, emphasizing a school environment that not only offers opportunities but also en- courages students to engage in reflective introspection regarding their own experiences. Collaboration with families and various institutions, with whom children and adolescents interact, is crucial in educational orientation, aiming to enhance informal learning and the competencies developed within diverse life contexts.
