Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] These letters "On aesthetic education" (1795) outline the goal of a complete and harmonious formation of the individual, wanting to educate to learn and to transmit the sense of beauty. The impulse to play is that which, in man, reconciles sensitivity and rationality, necessity and contingency, freedom and passivity: it combines science and philosophy with common knowledge and establishes that "aesthetic state" which, although it does not itself produce knowledge and moral clothes, however, poses the freedom to procure them.
