Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] In the cards, the events of some stone works preserved in the Museum of Ancient Art of the Castello Sforzesco, including a fireplace with the coat of arms and deeds of Duke Galeazzo Maria Sforza, already preserved in one of the rooms of the castle of Pieve, are shown. of Cairo (Pavia), and an unprecedented capital of the deposits with the coat of arms of the Ghisolfi family (?), which most likely comes from the so-called "Casa dei Grifi" in Via Valpetrosa 5, Milan. The remaining cards, on the other hand, are all dedicated to exploring the stories of stone artifacts always kept at the Castello Sforzesco, which can be directly linked to the commission of Ambrogio Grifi, such as: the holy water font with the coat of arms of the ducal doctor attributable to the workshop of the sculptor Benedetto Briosco; the fireplace with coats of arms, motto and portrait of Ambrogio and a peduccio with the Grifi crest, coming from the palace annexed to the abbey of San Pietro in Lodi Vecchio, of which the archaeologist was commendatory; the pulpit with Ambrogio's motto, from the monastery of San Pietro in Gessate in Milan
