Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The engraving by Marc'Antonio Dal Re dedicated to Violante Vestri offers many points of interest, on the occasion of his performance in the Tigrane at the Regio Ducal Theater in Milan in 1750: in addition to the portrait on stage, he proposes an example of the encomiastic sonnet typical of the epoch, gives indications on the singer, on the opera represented, the scenography, the costumes, some details of the Regio Ducal Theater, the fruition of the public, the composition of the orchestra, the position of the prompter, the soldiers assigned to public order, the circulation of prints. The individual aspects are analyzed and analyzed and an interpretation of the general meaning of the celebratory press is given
