[Autom. eng. transl.] The concept of symbolic exchange was defined by Pierpaolo Donati in 1978 as part of a reflection on the family and on the transformations that involved the female role in it. It is identified as a free exchange in which it offers to others what it needs assuming that alter will reciprocate, if necessary, with a good or equivalent content.
