Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Because Sanremo is Sanremo. This title was coined in 1995 by the magnificent trio Caruso, Baudo, Bardotti for an ingenious catchphrase that has left an indelible mark on the history of the Festival. It was a great melopoetic success thanks to a skilful blend of compositional resources, capable of summarizing - in the best possible way - the creative and cultural heart of the Sanremo competition: "I dream of a song that says many things, [...] / but then I I fall in love / with a silly refrain/ […]. Rivers of words are all the same / but some of them have little wings". Precisely in these verses lies the meaning of the adjective "melopoetic", which designates the marriage - as old as humanity, but always surprisingly renewed - between music and language.
