Abstract

The author investigates the historical development of the social partners’ role in the management of Public employment services in some important European experiences (United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark and Sweden). In the conclusions the author identifies a process of convergence towards a mixed model in which, under the public supervision, private actors and social partners complement services provided by the public actor.
