Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Poet, writer and theater critic, Roberto Rebora (1910-1992) was one of the purest and most isolated voices of the Italian twentieth century. Thirty years after his death, this collective volume reconstructs his figure, taking him beyond the label of author of the Lombard Line to which Luciano Anceschi had ascribed him in 1952. Alongside his activity as a poet, Rebora's translations, theatrical writings and memoir prose are examined, generated by the experience of being interned in the Nazi concentration camps, after his refusal to join the Republic of Salò. The studies collected here, which also make use of manuscript and unpublished materials, follow the first day of studies dedicated to him, promoted by the "Literature and culture of united Italy Francesco Mattesini" research center and by the Archive of Catholic literature and of writers in research, where the Roberto Rebora Fund has been established since 2018.
