Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Arbitration as private justice was widely used in the Middle Ages and especially in the age of the Municipalities and later in that of the Lords. The examples are largely taken from Cremona and Milan, both during the rule of Uberto Pelavicino and during the government of Ludovico il Moro.
