Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The contribution examines the mediation of the Gītā between the opposing ideals of Vedic ritualism and Vedantic asceticism by means of a tertium represented by the original doctrine of niṣkāma karman: a new ritualism stripped of selfish motives and sublimated in asceticism, to which is added the devotional dimension which in turn gives asceticism the sense of a sacrificial offering to the Lord.
