Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The IPCC report (2022) entitled “Climate Change 2022. Mitigation of Climate Change” finds that we are not on track to limit global warming to 1.5°C. The report predicts that, if greenhouse gas emissions continue to increase after 2025, they will lead to average global warming that could reach 3.2°C by 2100 (IPCC, 2022). Such upheavals will increase risks for natural and human systems and create new ones. Even if greenhouse gas emissions were to stop immediately, temperatures would remain high for centuries due to the effect of greenhouse gases already present in the atmosphere and produced in the past by human activities (IPCC, 2013; 2018). This is why global mitigation policies are needed to reduce the causes of climate change, but also complementary adaptation policies to reduce its consequences locally. This paper aims to briefly present some of the adaptation solutions that emerged from the CLIC-PLAN project: Climate Change. Local Adaptation Plan for lakeside municipalities in subalpine areas with a strong tourist vocation, in particular from the survey-type investigation to detect the level of knowledge and perception of CC at global and local levels and from the focus groups conducted on the territory.
