Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Numerous imported products are increasingly enriching the offer of Italian media, including television: in this way, in Italy, content that is not designed and created specifically for the national public arrives, but which, once transferred and adapted, changes - at least in part - their shape. In the television field, a particularly interesting case is that of the American situation comedy: a central genre in US television, but which in Italy is both very widespread in the schedules and often misunderstood, complex to translate and sometimes rebuilt - or even distorted -, despised but seen (and revised) by entire generations of spectators. This volume lays the theoretical basis for a study of the "apparently banal" processes of "mediation" that occur in the passage of a media product from one country to another: national appropriation (or "Italianisation"), translation , adaptation, distribution. And then he applies these bases to an in-depth analysis of the Italian stories of the American sitcom, and of some of his titles in particular (Seinfeld, Friends, Will & Grace, How I Met Your Mother), from three points of view: the reconstruction of the ¬ of the kind in our country; the review of the variations and translational modifications that the television product necessarily has to face; finally, the story of its production and distribution chain, of the translation routines and of the professionals involved. To understand what changes in the sitcom when it passes from the United States to Italy, and why.
