Abstract
The essay focuses on the Lombard tradition with reference to the documentary and historical-artistic heritage. In particular, the study of the cases of Brescia, Monza and Pavia presents the nineteenth-century revivals in a patriotic and nationalistic key as keys to understanding the construction of the new Kingdom of Italy.
