[Autom. eng. transl.] The decision to place the concept of environment at the base of the conference of systemic studies held at the Catholic University on 8 March 2018 allowed not only to focus on various aspects with a strong interdisciplinary potential connected to the concept of environment, but also to identify the socio-cultural dynamics through which this often unspoken potential can be brought to light, investigated in its many facets and, ultimately, placed at the service of a richer and more conscious reflection, not only philosophical, on the life of the human beings. This work program has emerged clearly in its guidelines since the first three interventions: the greeting of Massimo Marassi, on behalf of the Department of Philosophy, the enumeration of the possible variations, including problems, of the concept of environment by Gianfranco Minati and the analysis - conducted by Lucia Urbani Ulivi - of the open methodological approach that must characterize philosophy, when it takes into consideration a complex notion such as that of the system and applies to recognizing its peculiar expressions in a not less articulated notion, such as that of the environment.
