[Autom. eng. transl.] Bringing children to the mystery of life, helping them to reflect on a correct idea of death: a task that engages adults, to whom it asks for particular pedagogical-educational skills, necessary for the family sharing of pain and for a gradual re-elaboration of emotions. In order for the adult to acquire a communicative competence, by means of which to deal with the theme of death under the educational aspect, it becomes above all necessary for him to make his own a conception of dying that is not simply negative, therefore opposed to living. Death and life must be taken as part of the existential path of the person. Along this path it is to be hoped an educational intervention centered on the relationship from person to person but also the involvement of the network of domestic relationships of which the child is a part, in any case keeping in mind some pedagogical-educational criteria, such as the criterion of truth and the criterion of graduality.
