Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The objective of this concluding chapter is to propose, starting from the theoretical reflections and empirical evidence, some dilemmas (or trade-offs) that public and private managers face in urban regeneration initiatives for cultural purposes and social innovation. In particular, the following trade-offs have been identified: 1) center vs. periphery; 2) production vs. consumption; 3) governance models and nature (typically public vs. private) of the subjects involved. Finally, two critical themes are proposed that cross the dilemmas mentioned: 1) the theme of creative work in the current context of hybridization of urban management practices; and 2) the issue of effectiveness or the distinction between policies and practical implementation. Finally, some emerging themes are proposed to be taken into account in a future agenda for research and practices on urban regeneration, culture and social innovation.
