Abstract
The paper traces the biography of Flavius Josephus in his discriminating moments, especially at the time of his passage to the Romans. Josephus passed from the state of prisoner to that of ‘special supervised’ and then to that of free citizen and managed to enjoy the protection of the Flavian emperors by skilfully exploiting this privileged position.
