Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The Milanese Church, under the guidance of Carlo Borromeo, breaks the pre-existing balance and promotes a profound reorganization of religious life in relation to the global structure of society, which arouses widespread resistance with which it has had to come to terms. The results so far neglected are studied, starting first of all from the judicial documentation relating to the rural areas of the diocese.
