Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The essay proposes a reinterpretation of the Encounter of the Samaritan woman at the well according to Michelangelo's invention offered to Vittoria Colonna and noted through engravings, drawings and paintings, all copies of a lost original. An unpublished drawing attributed to Marcello Venusti is presented and can be placed next to the lost original. On the basis of the correspondence with the Column and some texts by Girolamo Savonarola, some meanings present in Michelangelo's representation are suggested.
