Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Reconstitution is a pedotechnology that operates on degraded soils by intervening on two factors of soil decline: the structure and the organic component. By means of two specific treatment steps performed by the implant, a first soil premixing action is performed with suitable matrices followed by a second mechanical type, through which a disintegration of the premix is achieved and a subsequent compression action: In this last phase the actual reconstitution takes place which generates neo aggregates of the technosque specifically called reconstituted soil. The mechanical action carries out, with the disintegration of the premixes, the destructuring of the soil and the dispersion, through flaking and defibration, of the additional components: in this way the mineral fraction is recombined with the organic fraction which is, with the energetic compressive forces, operated by means of a system of rotating disks and pressure hammers, new conditions are established that involve the construction of the reconstituted soil with its specific characteristics and properties. A priority aspect is the identification of waste matrices with which to compose the premixes (it is not clear to me if "which" refers to premixes or waste matrices) which must provide the appropriate environmental and agronomic qualities. These guarantees are provided - from the point of view of environmental protection - by the study of the production processes that generate waste, placing precise discriminants, and by a series of chemical, physical and toxicological characterization surveys. The agronomic and pedological aspect must instead be studied on the basis of the distinctive characteristics of each matrix and according to the project to be carried out, therefore in relation to the soil to be treated and the reconstituted soil that is to be produced. The studies completed, above all thanks to the EU financial contribution LIFE 10 ENV / IT / 000400 NEWLIFE, and the applications of technology have confirmed the validity of the method obtaining results of particular interest both in the restoration of degraded sites under the environmental agronomic aspect and as an expression of a circular economy model that offers the opportunity to make renewable resources otherwise destined for disposal. These resources are exposed to some cases already tested and others of potential interest.
