Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The relationship between educational research and globalization is complex and articulated and deserves to be studied in depth from multiple points of view. In the present contribution the analysis focuses in particular on the complex area of the relationships between theory, practice, practices, research, politics, real strategic and epistemological challenges. Research, practice and political action are non-opposing spheres but with different priorities and characteristics, not overlapping but with spaces for mutual encounter and enrichment, today not sufficiently validated or rigorously applied on a methodological level, which would seem to be a more systematic understanding , rigorous and virtuous. With regard to educational research, intended to qualify as an original and essential interlocutor of educational practice and policies, in continuity with the theme of the international debate, three main lines of commitment can be identified: the choice of significant themes and research objects, aimed at to support and guidelines and educational policy decisions; the identification and correct definition of research forms and methods to support the experience; the development of research as an intrinsic resource to educational professionalism. These challenges constitute an important opportunity for renewal and rethinking for educational research.
