Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] This contribution returns to a style that Gérard Genette had formerly qualified as balzacism, namely the designative turn X, this Y of Z. After a formal description of the turn, likely to bring out the stylistic stakes, we look at examples taken from The Human Comedy and analyze in particular the didactic and hyperbolic value of the designation, as well as its contribution to the consolidation of the romantic universe or to the construction of an effect of point of view.
