[Autom. eng. transl.] The text starts from the beatification, by the Catholic Church, of Sister Enrichetta Alfieri, who worked for decades at the San Vittore prison in Milan, which during the Nazi occupation risked being shot for the help given to political prisoners. On this basis, motivations are developed so that a salary vision of justice is overcome and, with it, the centrality that still recourse to detention at the time of conviction takes. References to the recent magisterium of the Catholic Church on the subject of empowerment and recovery of offenders are proposed.
