Abstract

Modernity, globalization and the crisis of the liberal system pose the West and the Arab world face to face with the same challenges. We are all interconnected and interdependent, but it is still difficult to act ultimately in a wider way. The critical analysis of some aspects of our problematic 'past compound' and the historical misunderstandings that we have prevented from collaborating could give us the opportunity to overcome the impasse - this time serious and general - in a truly alternative way.
