Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The Italian Repertoire of Word Families (RIF) is a tool for teaching and enriching vocabulary: it is organized around 366 etymes, mostly Latin, under which the families of Italian words are gathered. For example, under the "progenitor" ANIMUM there are spirits, animadversion, animosities, animosities, etc. Each family is based on the bonds of morphological and semantic relationship between words, arranged alphabetically and grouped in sub-families of "descendants". The grammatical qualification, one or more definitions accompanied by any brands of use and the etymology are provided for each word, when it offers useful information to reconstruct the links with the progenitor or with the Italian word of descent.
