Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The contribution investigates the different uses of wine in the Middle Ages with particular regard to the tradition of the "saint vinage", which was obtained by sprinkling the relics of the saints, in our case those of Saint Anthony Abbot, kept by the canons of Saint Anthony of Vienne. An analysis of the spread of the Antonian Order in Southern Italy and of the traditions connected with it is also proposed.
