Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The study of relations between States and religious confessions represents an indispensable tool for evaluating the level of protection of religious freedom, but it is also an indicator of democracy and the ability to govern social conflicts. Knowing constitutional structures and problems of religious presence in different state realities helps to understand and govern a phenomenon that is increasingly decisive for the life of societies and the international community. Alongside some classic models of State-religion relations present in Europe (Italy, France, Spain and the United Kingdom) and in North America (USA and Canada), specific experiences are analyzed for the proposed regulatory framework (Greece, Turkey, Albania), for emerging issues (Israel, Russian Federation) and for the contaminations between state and religious norms (Jordan, Bahrain).
