Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The paper presents the results of a research of national interest (PRIN) funded by the Ministry of Research and the University entitled Social Relations and Identity on the Net: experiences and narratives of Italians on Facebook. The research aims to investigate the forms of construction and redefinition of social relations and the identity of Italians on the Net, focusing in particular on the practices and meanings that users provide to their staying on a Social Network like Facebook. On this basis, the research question can be formulated in these terms: what is the communicative experience of Italians on Facebook? In other words, if by lived we mean the frame that frames the experience and makes it communicable and shareable with others, what are the dynamics of meaning through which the user produces and tells what he himself thinks he is on Facebook? This question can only be linked to the general hypothesis that Facebook is a non-anonymous context that presents strong levels of anchoring with offline reality (Zhao, Grasmuck, Martin 2008) in which users adopt reflexively oriented communication behaviors and the management of its social networks in terms of audience / audience.
