Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The growing social inequalities, aggravated by the recent economic crisis, have reaffirmed the need to introduce income support measures. This demand is not new. Already in the past, illustrious scholars have questioned the role of public institutions in the fight against poverty. What are the philosophical and economic foundations of basic income? How has this idea been declined in the past? At what point is the current debate?
