Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] A central theme emerges in this work, linked to a dramatic vision of Ireland, which, fearful of "taking a step in a different direction" (p. 145), remains firm, paralyzed on a present that sinks its anthropological roots in the (mythical) past of the nation: the latter, if on the one hand it is regret (à la Hardy), on the other goes to block an evolution in the present, enclosing the Irish dimension between local contours, always equal to if themselves.
