Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Trade unions are often criticized similar to those reserved for political parties, also because the difficulties appear to be very similar in a context dominated by both "populism" and the demand for forms of direct participation as an alternative to those delegated. However, if we adopt a comparative approach compared to other organizations of social and political representation, it cannot be denied that the trade union organizations continue to be a reference point on issues of particular and general interest and carry out service activities of full individual and collective interest. In the context of increasingly individualized and fragmented work relationships, trade union delegates are required to have interpersonal skills oriented towards listening, commitment, and solidarity on which the re-generation of the trust capital that underlies any form of representation also depends in the era of narcissistic individualism and disintermediation.
