Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] "Effi Briest Fountains" is the most classic title of the directorial path of Rainer Werner Fassbinder; the German author identifies in the Wilhelmine era - through Theodor Fontane's novel - those social codes that in his view still suffocate the Germany of the twentieth century, and gives a refined visual interpretation.
