Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Those who work in social and health services have to make difficult decisions. The professional assessments of individual cases are often understood as neutral processes for collecting and analyzing information. However, diagnosis, prescriptions and interventions are affected both by a body of formal knowledge and by technical-procedural approaches based on empirical evidence, both routine and latent prejudices of which the operator is not always aware. Practicing reflexivity essentially means developing the ability to analyze one's own professional thinking, as manifested in speech and written documentation. The practice of reflexivity is a new way of critically building knowledge in the world of health care and social welfare services.
