Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Debating Medieval Natural Law: A Survey is the first result of a research project undertaken by Riccardo Saccenti about the relationship between the historical development of the idea of natural law and the magisterium of the Church, supported since 2012 by the John XXIII Foundation for Religious Sciences from Bologna. Saccenti recognizes in the distinction between lex, in the sense of an objective rule, and ius, understood as a subjective right, the beginning of a new language that is the basis of modern theories of law.
