Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The interest in the theme of romantic relationships in adolescence has only recently found a place in the scientific literature, highlighting how these play an important role in the social and relational life of adolescents, contributing strongly to their development in the direction of greater or lesser well-being. The first part of this volume examines and describes the development of romantic relationships in adolescence, considering the regulatory aspects. Alongside a theoretical framework on the subject, the construct of romantic competence, the evolution of sentimental relations in young adulthood, the contribution played by new technologies to the development of sentimental relationships and the theme of the influence of cultural dimensions on these bonds are studied in depth. The second part of the book focuses on some of the possible maladaptive outcomes linked to sentimental experiences in adolescence, analyzing in particular the internalizing risks connected to these first ties, the aggressive and violent behavior within the couple, the phenomena of sexting and pornography and the atypical experience of pregnancy and parenting in adolescence. The volume is aimed primarily at students but also at those who, on a daily basis and in different ways, come into contact with the adolescent world (psychologists, educators, teachers, parents).
