Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The inclusion of idiomatic expressions in the bilingual dictionary raises issues related to theoretical studies on phraseology, metalessicography and the teaching of foreign languages. This article analyzes the strategies used in bilingual Italian-French lexicography to facilitate the identification and finding of locutions (Séquences Figées). Six contemporary bilngui dictionaries are examined (Boch 2000, DIF 2003, Ferrante and Cassiani 1991, Garzanti 2003 and 2006, Robert & Signorelli 1988), whose publication covers a period of almost twenty years (between 1988 and 2006 ), through the analysis of both the text and the lexicographic text.
