Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The essay reconstructs the public budget costs of hydrogeological catastrophes in Italy by selecting information from various works carried out in Italy since the post-war period. It therefore proposes a scheme of correct assessment of the social costs of natural disasters based on criteria of social cost-benefit analysis and discusses the difficulties of prevention policies.
