Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] A recurring theme in the reflections on the future of the European Union is that of so-called differentiated integration. After having examined the different forms of differentiated integration currently present in the Union legal system (opting out clauses; institution of enhanced cooperation; economic and monetary union), the article reflects on possible future developments, and in particular on the two perspectives of a "à la carte" Europe and a new structure with concentric circles.
