Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The birth of a child is a critical event for every woman, that is to say one of inevitable change, and potentially stressful. The transition to motherhood is thus configured as a process with uncertain outcomes, which can lead to the development of different forms of psychological distress of varying intensity and severity. The aim of this contribution is to offer a reading of this experience starting from some psychodynamic models that allow you to have a specific look at the theme of motherhood and the mother-child relationship.
